First Baptist Church has been in existence for more than 100 years. That’s a long time. But it has not been wasted time. This church has a rich history of serving not only the community of Marlow but also making a difference, literally, around the world. We are still committed to impacting the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

As you might imagine there have been a lot of changes in First Baptist Church over the last century. But what you might not be aware of is we are still changing. Some would say we are always changing. But you know, God is the ultimate change agent. His story, the Bible, is a record of incredible change. So we are convinced that we always have to be willing to change to reach a changing world.

At the same time, however, we are committed to the unchanging Word of God. In other words, our methods have to change but our message never changes. We believe God’s Word is just as relevant for the needs of today as it was when it was first written. In fact, we believe the Bible is completely true and therefore perfectly answers every question we might have.

If you are considering visiting this church, you probably have a few questions about what you might encounter here. For example, you might be wondering about how people dress here. The answer is we are a rather informal church. There are some folks who dress up for church but the majority doesn’t.

You might also be wondering if your kids would enjoy it here. Our kids’ ministry and student ministry are two of the strongest areas of our church. Your kids will love it!

You might be curious about what kind of worship style we use. We sing a lot of the newer music but are not too good to use some of the great hymns of the faith. When you come to our Sunday morning worship at 8:30 AM you will hear a lot of great hymns, some Southern Gospel, and, as we like to say, a few other surprises.  When you come to our Sunday morning worship at 10:55 AM, you will hear contemporary Christian music complete with a praise band and team.

Finally, you might be wondering if you would get anything out of the preaching. Our pastor does his very best to make it as practical as possible. It is important to us that our folks get something each Sunday that they can use on Monday. It is also important to us that our worship services be a good experience. So we have been known to have some fun around here on Sunday mornings.
